Rap Site Monitor
An opportunity exists for a RAP Site Monitor to join a dedicated team supporting cultural heritage activities across Gippsland.

About the Role
This is a field-based, hands-on role where you will support cultural heritage activities through surveying, monitoring, and site work.
Key responsibilities include:
- Attending and conducting approved site monitoring activities including surveying and excavation
- Identifying cultural artefacts, objects, skeletal remains, and areas of significance
- Supporting the recording and registration of Aboriginal places
- Completing survey and data entry work linked to field operations
- Providing cultural knowledge and input to support field teams and stakeholders
- Ensuring all activities meet legislative and procedural requirements
You will bring practical experience and a strong connection to cultural heritage work, with the ability to work collaboratively in field environments. To be successful, you will have:
- Experience in cultural heritage field work
- Understanding of relevant heritage legislation and regulations
- Experience working alongside technical specialists (e.g. archaeologists)
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Computer literacy and attention to detail
- Certificate IV in Aboriginal Cultural Heritage Management
- Experience using GIS or mapping tools
- Strong knowledge of Gunaikurnai culture, values, and community
- Casual ongoing position with flexible hours
- Casual equivalent salary of approx. $47,000 – $58,000 (full-time equivalent)

- Current Victorian Driver’s Licence
- Willingness to complete required training (including Rail Induction)
- Ability to undertake Drug & Alcohol testing
- Working With Children Check and/or Police Check
- Willingness to travel, including to remote locations
