Are you passionate about creating meaningful community connections and ensuring voices are heard where it matters most? This is a unique opportunity to take on a pivotal engagement role supporting major long-term projects that will shape communities, culture, and future generations.

We are seeking an experienced and community-focused Major Projects Engagement Manager to lead engagement activities, build trusted relationships, and support open dialogue between stakeholders, community members, and project teams.

Working closely with Elders, Traditional Owners, and a wide range of stakeholders, you will play a key role in ensuring respectful, transparent, and culturally informed engagement outcomes are achieved. This is a full-time opportunity offered on a three-year contract basis.

About the Role

Reporting into the Major Projects team, you will be responsible for planning and delivering meaningful community engagement initiatives and ensuring strong communication pathways between all stakeholders.

Key responsibilities will include:
  • Organising community gatherings, workshops, and information sessions
  • Planning and coordinating engagement activities and consultation processes
  • Building trusted relationships with community members and stakeholders
  • Facilitating respectful and open communication between parties
  • Liaising with government bodies, project partners, and external organisations
  • Managing budgets, resources, and reporting requirements
  • Tracking engagement outcomes and capturing community feedback
  • Supporting culturally respectful practices and ways of working
About You

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate strong relationship-building skills and the ability to engage sensitively and effectively with Aboriginal-led communities and organisations. You will also bring:
  • Relevant qualifications or demonstrated experience in Community Engagement, Community Development, Business Management, or a related field
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management capability
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • The ability to work autonomously, show initiative, and manage competing priorities
  • A genuine appreciation and respect for Aboriginal culture and community
  • Experience working alongside Traditional Owners and community groups will be highly regarded
Additional Requirements
  • Current Victorian Driver’s Licence
  • Working With Children Check and/or Police Check
  • Ability to undertake mandatory Drug and Alcohol Testing
  • Willingness to travel and attend community engagement activities as required
