Accountant – 6 Month Contract

An excellent opportunity exists for an experienced finance professional to join a well-established and highly respected organisation on a full-time temporary basis for an initial 6-month contract.

Working within a collaborative and supportive finance team, this role will see you providing comprehensive financial and business support across a complex multi-site operation. You will partner closely with managers and key stakeholders, contributing to financial reporting, analysis, forecasting, compliance and continuous improvement initiatives.

This is a diverse and hands-on role suited to a motivated accounting professional who enjoys building strong working relationships, supporting operational leaders and contributing to organisational performance outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide financial and management accounting support across allocated business areas
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, financial modelling and analysis activities
• Support month-end and end-of-year financial processes
• Prepare internal and external financial and statutory reporting
• Work collaboratively with cost centre managers to improve financial accountability and performance
• Participate in audit processes and compliance activities
• Assist with projects, reporting improvements and future capability development initiatives
• Support continuous improvement across finance systems and processes
• Maintain accurate documentation, job notes and reporting records

About You

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:

• Degree qualifications in Accounting, Business or related discipline
• Eligibility for or completion of CPA, CA or IPA qualifications
• Previous experience in financial and management accounting within a medium-sized organisation
• Strong analytical, reporting and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities
• Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
• A proactive and team-focused approach
• Exposure to large organisational finance systems and complex operational environments will be highly regarded.
