Fulham Solar Farm – Construction Commencing Soon
The Fulham Solar Farm is a proposed farm of 65 megawatts with battery storage of up to 65 megawatts per hour to be located on 400 acres of low value farmland adjacent to the north western corner of the Hopkins Road and McLarens Road intersection Fulham, within Wellington Shire. The battery storage is an essential part of the project as it assists in ensuring consistent energy supply to the electricity grid during times of low solar energy output. Both sites will connect into the existing 66KV National Energy Grid with minimal costs required for additional infrastructure.
Future Projects - The Gippsland Renewable Energy Park
The Gippsland Renewable Energy Park will be developed on a site that comprises dry marginal farming land. While the initial proposal was to utilise two sites that could accommodate 250MW of solar each, we have been able to acquire 5800 acres on one site, enabling 500MW of solar and 500MWh of batteries on the site. This will enable substantial economies of scale and reduced transmission infrastructure costs. The site will also be able to accommodate other renewable energy projects in addition to solar and batteries. The park will be developed in stages and will be community focused and technology led. The Gippsland Renewable Energy Park has received support from the Victorian Government and is also fully supported by the Wellington Shire Council.
The Gippsland Renewable Energy Park will address key concerns around climate change and will provide a viable alternative to coal fired power both in the short and long term. The total project is estimated to cost $2.6 billion and create thousands of local jobs and opportunities for local businesses. The park is being structured as a fully integrated renewable energy hub which will be able to provide dispatchable power 24/7.
